What is an AI Visibility Score?
Your AI Visibility Score is a 0–100 index that measures how often your brand appears in AI-generated responses across all major platforms — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, and more. We run thousands of queries per week in your category and calculate what percentage mention your brand, how prominently, and in what context.
Which AI platforms do you monitor?
ChatSEO monitors all major AI platforms: ChatGPT (GPT-4o, with and without Browse), Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and emerging platforms as they reach scale. Starter plans cover 5 platforms; Growth and Enterprise cover all 10+ simultaneously.
How is this different from traditional SEO tools?
Traditional SEO tools measure keyword rankings and click-through traffic on search engine results pages. ChatSEO measures AI citations — whether your brand is actually mentioned when someone asks an AI for a recommendation. These are fundamentally different metrics. A brand can rank #1 on Google and still be completely absent from AI responses, or vice versa.
How long does it take to see results?
Your first AI Visibility Report is available immediately after setup — you'll see exactly where your brand stands within minutes. For tracking improvement over time, most customers see meaningful movement in their AI Visibility Score within 4–8 weeks of implementing the recommended changes, though this varies significantly by category and competitive landscape.
What are 'queries' and how are they counted?
Queries are the individual prompts we send to AI platforms on your behalf — things like 'what's the best [product category] for [use case]?' or 'which [service] would you recommend?'. We run a range of queries covering your brand, your category, your competitors, and the specific questions your ideal customers ask. Each query sent to each platform counts as one query.
Can I track competitors?
Yes. Competitive intelligence is included in Growth and Enterprise plans. You can see how your AI Visibility Score compares to up to 10 named competitors in your category, track their share of voice across platforms, and receive alerts when their visibility changes significantly.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every new account gets a free AI Visibility Report that shows your current score across all major platforms — no credit card required. This gives you a complete picture of where your brand stands before committing to a paid plan. Paid trials with full monitoring are available on request.
What is the cancellation policy?
All plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time with no cancellation fees. Annual billing is available at a 20% discount. When you cancel, your account remains active until the end of your current billing period.
How is this different from monitoring social media mentions?
Social listening tools track when people mention your brand online. ChatSEO tracks when AI models recommend your brand in response to questions — a fundamentally different signal. AI citations represent high-intent moments where a potential customer is actively asking for a recommendation and receiving a direct answer. These moments are increasingly where purchase decisions are made.
What is 'share of voice' in AI?
AI Share of Voice measures what percentage of relevant AI responses in your category mention your brand, compared to competitors. For example, if you appear in 12 out of 100 relevant AI queries while the category leader appears in 35, your AI share of voice is 12% vs. their 35%. This is the AI equivalent of traditional brand share of voice metrics.
Can I get alerts when my AI visibility changes?
Yes. Growth and Enterprise plans include real-time Slack and email alerts when your AI Visibility Score changes significantly, when a competitor's visibility surges, or when new query patterns emerge in your category. You can configure alert thresholds and frequency in your dashboard.
Does ChatSEO work for B2B brands?

What does 'optimization playbooks' mean?
Optimization playbooks are step-by-step action plans generated by ChatSEO based on your specific visibility gaps. Rather than generic advice, playbooks are tailored to your brand, category, and current score — telling you exactly what content to create, what third-party presence to build, and how to structure your brand information to improve your AI citation rate.
How does billing work for multiple brands?
Each brand you monitor counts against your plan's brand allowance. Starter covers 1 brand, Growth covers 5, Enterprise is unlimited. A 'brand' is a distinct brand identity — you can monitor multiple brands under the same account, and each gets its own AI Visibility Score, dashboard, and reports.

Is my data secure?
ChatSEO is built on Marqo's enterprise AI infrastructure, which is trusted by some of the world's largest brands. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not share your brand data, query data, or visibility scores with any third parties. Enterprise plans include SSO, advanced access controls, and custom data retention policies.
